PRAISES:
Riobamba School
We praise the Lord that the Riobamba Nazarene School in Ecuador inaugurated new classrooms, a new computer lab, a new science lab, and new kitchen and dining area for their 400-student body. The school is the largest private grade and high school in the city of Riobamba. Some of the school’s graduates are now teaching at the school. Lives continue to be touched and changed for God's glory.
PRAY FOR:
GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
Mozambique
The Africa Region is requesting prayer for Mozambique. Tension has risen since Monday, 21 October 2013, when government forces occupied the base of the opposition party Renamo, following an attack on the Defense and Security forces. Citizens in Mozambique and neighboring countries are concerned about where the current situation will lead. Please pray for peace in Mozambique, and specifically in the Sofala Province.
Gandas Transition to New Work
Missionaries Friday and Mary Ganda have transitioned to work in Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Mary will serve as treasurer and Friday as the assistant to the field strategy coordinator. The Gandas say, "The area of our work has expanded which translates into more work and travel, a lot of which will be on rough or nearly non-existent roads. We will need a 4WD vehicle. We are also surveying the whole situation to see what needs to be done first. We will need a lot of your prayers as we settle in."
November Missionary Prayer Focus
Please join Verne Ward, director of Global Mission, and pray specifically for the following missionaries during the month of November. Please remember to pray for our missionaries who serve in creative access or secured areas of the world. May the Lord meet every one of their needs.
David and Helen Ann Bucher, Saipan
Andy Diehlmann, Papua New Guinea
Daniel Herrera, USA/Canada
Judith Radcliff, Germany
Stephen and Anne Sickel, Costa Rica
Mike Wheatley, Peru

Dr. Eugenio Duarte
Dr. David Graves
Dr. David Busic
Dr. Gustavo Crocker
HEALTH-RELATED REQUESTS
Ina Kanis
Please pray for retired missionary Ina Kanis who is scheduled to undergo breast cancer surgery on October 29. Ina and her husband, Jaap, served in South Africa, Botswana, and Mozambique and currently reside at Casa Robles in California. Pray the surgery is successful and eliminates all cancer from Ina's body.
Graeme and Pauline Sheppard
Please be in prayer for Graeme and Pauline Sheppard. Pauline recently underwent hand surgery and is recovering. Pray that her hand heals completely and quickly. Graeme had major surgery on October 23 after tests revealed a malignancy in the pancreas and common bile duct. He is making good progress in his recovery and the doctor is confident he was able to get all the cancer out. Please pray for Graeme’s complete healing. Pauline is the NMI Regional Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific Region. Graeme is a former member of the Church of the Nazarene’s General Board.

GLOBAL CONCERNS – BODY OF CHRIST
Global Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Sunday, November 3, is the annual Global Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Below are ten specific requests we have taken from a non-denominational blog of prayer requests for the persecuted church. The requests do not necessarily represent specific Nazarene ministries. Please join brothers and sisters around the world in prayer daily, and especially this Sunday, November 3, for Christians who are persecuted because of their faith in Jesus.
Father we pray for…
Central Africa Republic—that the Church there will look to the Lord of Hosts for grace, strength, and deliverance will not be found anywhere else.
India—give Your church boldness and wisdom, and bless all witnesses.
Belarus—that the Church will grow in faith, wisdom, grace and unity in the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:3) across denominational lines, ready for the future.
Cuba—that tentative steps towards reform would continue.
Central Asia (general)—that Christians in those areas who have been imprisoned, fined, or beaten for their faith will be blessed and comforted.
Indonesia—sustain and sanctify Your church there.
Egypt—that Egyptians will seek and find the truth that will set them free and bring healing to their land.
Nigeria—anoint Nigeria’s pastors and evangelists with the Holy Spirit of power to lead many to Christ.
Burma (Myanmar)—may peace and religious freedom be realized. Father, sustain Your church and intervene on her behalf.
Laos—bless Laotians witness and build Your church.
Additional prayer requests for the Persecuted Church can be found on the NMI Web site by clicking here. To visit the non-denominational blog referenced above, click here.
Thank you for praying.
