– Devotion – “SCRIPTURE: ...and a little child will lead them.”(ISAIAH 11:6)
Dawson and Brennan Edwards, who have both
attended Stepping Stones, and were baptized at Trinity, did an extraordinary
thing this weekend.
Dawson’s friend and classmate at Talbot
suffers from Mitochondrial Disease, and is a part of the Shands Miracle
Network.
Dawson wanted to help his friend, so this
past Saturday at the Blues Creek Annual Yard sale he wanted to sell lemonade
and hot cocoa to raise money to help his friend Nathan.
With Mom and Dad doing nothing but making
the Cocoa and Lemonade, they made the sign and managed to raise $100 for Nathan
and Shands Miracle Network. It’s rare and to see such awareness in children of
this age with Dawson being 5, and Brennan being 3. As their proud parents it I
cannot tell you how blessed Shauna and I are for having children that care so
much. I believe Dawson is going to be taken to Shands to hand over the money
himself and see the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. I want to say that it
was the way they were raised, but I know as well that God had a part in the
generosity that prompted our children to do this.
Nathan is a wonderful child, and while
other kids might shun another child that has to wear an oxygen tube at his age,
he is one of Dawson’s best friends.
