Trinity United Methodist Church - Thursday, 20 February 2014 - Message
E-Message from Trinity UMC

Dear Friends, I wanted you to know about a couple of important things:
1.  Trinity member, Harold Blalack, tomorrow in Tallahassee will be presented the prestigious French Legion of Honor Medal, an honor begun by Napoleon in 1802.  Harold was involved in the Rhineland Northern France Campaign and The Battle of the Bulge, and is also a recipient of the Bronze Star , Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman, Prisoner of War, and Expert Rifleman.  Harold and Edith are also a part of our amazing hospital visitation team and deliver to Trinity patients the most beautiful, large and fragrant roses that they grow in their own garden.  Harold, you make us proud!
2.  On Thursday, April 3, the Florida Children's Home will honor Trinity at a special ceremony of the dedication of the first building of the Madison Youth Ranch, in appreciation of the $200,000 gift from Trinity members that made this "The Ranch Home" possible.  The dedication will be at 11:00, with lunch to follow.  I hope a lot of you will go with us for this special ceremony, and see the beautiful grounds of the Ranch.  We will take our bus and vans and cars.  If you would like to
attend, please email Tammy Karafa.  When Drew Pridgen, no doubt, in the spirit of his Grandfather, George, announced the $200,000 goal, it was kind of a dream, as we were in the midst of our major Capital Campaign to pay off our mortgage.  But God "owns the cattle on a thousand hills," and God is a generous God, and now the goal has been reached and the house has been built. Thanks be to God.
3.  Congrats to Tim Walton, UF Softball coach and, along with his
family are part of our Trinity family; he has his team off to an 11-0 start, and sitting at No. 1.
4.  Oh, and since Syracuse lost, does that make UF no. 1 in Men's
Basketball?  It's pretty doggone exciting around here.  I'll see you Sunday!  Dan
