Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Deotion for Tuesday, 21 October 2014 "Being the Change"
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity (I Timothy 4:12 ).
Below is the Focus Lizzy Lima gave to introduce the song Sonlight sang on October 5: "Waiting on the World to Change." She graciously granted me permission to use it as one of our DSE's for this Fall Focus.
Blessings, Dan
Good Morning,
My name is Lizzy Lima. The song we are singing today is "Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer. This song is about our generation, how we will be the change that brings an end to the violence, and hunger, and the prejudices of the world. We're the generation that supports love, and puts an end to war, and has open mindedness so we can all think for ourselves. We are the generation that creates, innovates and expresses ourselves in every which way. Let us be the change. Let us be the generation. Let us rise up and be the ones that see past race, religion, stereotypes, sexual orientation, money, age, and gender, the generation that loves and accepts everyone for who they are.
It is my honor to present Sonlight Band and Youth Choir, thank you.
We still need a few more devotionals for the DSE; please send to Tammy at tkarafa@trinitygnv.org
