Congregation Beth Israel Board of Directors Meeting
November 19, 2014 - 27 Cheshvan, 5775

We invoke God's blessing for the families of the victims of yesterday's terror attack at Kehillat Bnai Torah Yeshiva Synagogue in Har Nof, Jerusalem. The entire Jewish world observes mourning with their families and their community - on this night, we are one!

Let the aftermath of their murder remind us all that Palestinian terrorists who kill Jews in a House of Prayer along with all evil doers who attack the People of Israel in the State of Israel will never destroy the Jewish spirit. Let us remember that while Palestinians are dancing in the streets of Gaza and West Bank to celebrate the death of Jews; while their murderers will likely have streets named after them in the cities of Ramallah and Rafah, the Jewish People will give Tzedakah and perform acts of kindness in tribute to our dead.

From the depths of our sadness and anger, let the call go out from Jews around the world that we will never go away! Our spirits will never be diminished because our Covenant of Peace with the God of Peace - our goodness, acts of love and our vision of a world of peace will always prevail.

O God we also ask for your blessings of comfort and compassion on the family of a most righteous and heroic member of the Druze community, Police Master Sergeant Zidan Nahad Seif who gave his life in defense of the very democracy that makes it possible for all peoples, including our friends of the Druze community to live together, side by side in service, kinship and peace.

Compassionate God, Eternal Spirit of the Universe, grant perfect rest to our brothers, Rabbi Moshe Twersky, Rabbi Kalman Levine, Aryeh Kupinsky, and Avraham Shmuel Goldberg who have entered eternity. O God of mercy, let them find refuge in Your Eternal presence and let their souls be bound up in the bond of everlasting life. God is their inheritance. May they rest in peace and let us say, amen.

May Jerusalem, the City of Peace, once again know peace.
