Dear Friends,
I have seven things for you:
1. From this past Sunday: a. Here's the link to the video of the "homeless" man who gave $20 to his donors. b. The Priest who has the amazing ministry in Los Angeles is Father Greg Boyle; his TED Talk is awesome; just google his name. And his book is "Tattoos on the Heart." c. The preschoolers singing at the middle service were just wonderful! d. Here's the link to the article in The Atlantic - about the two key traits (kindness and generosity) for every healthy relationship (keep these great suggestions coming to me via email!). 2. Thanks to so many of you who turned in your commitment cards this past Sunday. I am always, always struck at the tremendous outpouring of generosity by this congregation, and we need everyone to make a pledge! 3. A copy of my little book on "Ruth" is a gift for everyone who makes a pledge. If you want additional copies - for Christmas gifts or whatever, we're asking for a $5 donation to help cover the costs. The books will be in our bookstore and on a table in the worship center. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I did writing it. 4. Donations for the new Welcome Center/Hub are now at $194,500! Amazing! Grateful. 5. Help us create our Advent Devotionals this year by going HERE to read the scriptures and then click on the link at the bottom of the page to select a verse and write your devotional about Christ's light shining either in your life or in someone else's. 6. Tomorrow night is the big "Rejoice Recital" entitled "Arkeology," - 6:30 in the worship center. 7. Ted is taking a group on a Living Water Mission Trip to El Salvador to drill a well - Jan. 18-24; there's still room for YOU! Contact Ted if you're interested.
Love and prayers, Dan |

A Word from Rev. Esther
This Wednesday the 6:35 service will have a Thanksgiving potluck in the atrium and will not meet in the chapel. Coffee Talk will still meet afterwards to get our gifts for our Guardian ad Litem child. Stay warm and have a blessed week!
A Word from Rev. Aaron Rev. Aaron's blog Friends, it's not too late to order a delicious pumpkin or apple pie to add to your table this Thanksgiving (I ordered one of each!) and support Sonlight's 2015 tour fundraising at the same time. We have a goal of selling 100 pies and we are almost there!
Also, please continue to pray for Steve Bingham, his wife Trudy, and all the family as he remains in ICU at Shands. Here's the latest update we have recieved: "Great update on Steve, the breathing tube is out!! He's still weak and not eating and drinking yet but tomorrow's goal is to move from the bed to the chair!!" Your prayers are working! Have a God-filled week and I'll see you Sunday! |

Adult Ministries
David Leonard
- Health Care Surrogate Form: We often think of needing a health care surrogate in our elder years when we are likely to experience various surgeries or treatments. Yet, even young adults experience accidents or health conditions that result in surgery or rehab treatments. When this happens, it is extremely helpful to family members to have a clear understanding of your preferences regarding possible treatment options when you are unable to speak for yourself. That is a gift of love, which spares your loved ones unnecessary stress when you are incapacitated and they do not know your preferences. Chaplain James T. Wagner, PhD, MDiv, Professor Emeritus, Program in Bioethics, Law and Medical Professionalism at Shands Hospital, has designed a Health Care Surrogate (Advanced Directive) form and made it available to Trinity as a model for each person to modify for their personal preferences. Use this link to create a gift of love for your loved ones this year.
- "Protecting Our Seniors: An Overview of the New Florida Senior Exploitation Law," a free seminar at the Senior Recreation Center (5701 NW 34 St.) on Nov. 21, 10 am-12 pm. Presented by Shannon Miller, Esq. and Mary Kay Wimsett, Esq, offered by UF Health Niche Program Promoting Healthy Aging & Independence
