FUN IN THE SNOW. I took this photo yesterday morning during a light snow. Buddy, our black Labrador Retriever, is waiting to retrieve. I should have been writing, since breakfast was finished, but I took a few minutes to enjoy our dog before going to my office to enjoy the Bible.
WEDNESDAY IS HUMP DAY, halfway through the week. Come lunch, it’s a downhill ride to Friday, as the clock marks laps.
Just for fun, I thought you might enjoy reading what the Bible says about having fun.
Most of us who read the Bible know that it says we need to work hard and not goof off all the time. But what we don’t hear as often is that the Bible says it’s a good and godly thing to goof off some of the time.
Here’s advice attributed to King David and his son Solomon, whom God promised to make “wiser than anyone who has ever lived or ever will live” (1 Kings 3:12).
The best that people can do here on earth is to eat, drink, and enjoy life, because these joys will help them do the hard work God gives them here on earth. Ecclesiastes 8:15
God’s gift to us is the happiness we get from our food and drink and from the work we do. Ecclesiastes 3:13
Rejoice because of your Creator….Praise his name by dancing and playing music on harps and tambourines. Psalm 149:2-3
We can enjoy our meals, celebrate God in church, and if the sermon is boring, dance when the sermon’s done.
