Groundswell for Friday, 20 February 2o15 "Today: Sanctuary tour launch!"

GroundswellGroundswell for Friday, 20 February 2o15 "Today: Sanctuary tour launch!"
After living in Sanctuary for 58 days in Philadelphia, Angela was granted a stay of deportation by our local ICE director.1 Now, she’s using her freedom to make sure no one in Sanctuary is left behind.
Today, Angela’s heading west to visit the 3 people still in Sanctuary fighting to keep their families together.
"I want to meet MisaelRosa, and Arturo in person and give them my support because I'm still fighting. We want them to win their cases and we'll keep fighting so all deportations end. We're all in the same struggle,” says Angela.

Angela will be on the road through February 27, visiting Sanctuary families and the faith communities organizing together for immigrant justice. In each city, we’ll lend our support to the Sanctuary campaigns, learn from each other's organizing experiences, and speak out publicly to demand that ICE stop the deportation orders of Rosa, Arturo, Misael, and thousands of others.
The Sanctuary tour takes off in the wake of U.S. District Judge Hanen’s temporary blocking of the executive action President Obama signed to protect and support millions of undocumented families2—including Angela’s. We know this reckless decision by a lone judge won’t last long and Angela's trip is perfectly timed to lift up our values of faith, family, and justice for all immigrants. In our movement, no one gets left behind.
Like us on Facebook to stay updated on our trip and the Sanctuary events happening in Denver, Phoenix and Tucson.
We hope Angela’s faith and leadership inspires you as it has her community. Please share her journey as we update, and we hope to meet some of you in person this week!
In solidarity,
Nicole, Angela, Manrique, Peter and Blanca
