The L'Arche Canada Foundation in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada with Jean Vanier's Daily Thoughts for Wednesday, 28 September 2016 "Prayer"
Prayer is an attitude of trust in Our Father, seeking his will, seeking to be a presence of love for brothers and sisters. Each of us must know how to rest and unwind in silence and contemplation, heart to heart with God.[Jean Vanier, Community and Growth, page 189]

"Belonging to Each Other"
There is a danger always -- friendship can be one of the most beautiful human realities. But friendship can also be a closed shop where we flatter each other -- we are wonderful, you are wonderful! And the others ?
We create a hierarchy of the wonderful. How wonderful it would be if you welcome in your homes people of different opinions! Don't be frightened of people who think differently. Peace can only come if we listen to each other, creating places of togetherness and belonging.[Jean Vanier, Address to the Business Community, April 05]
