A prayer by Bishop Harald Rückert of the Germany East Central Conferences, leading the United Methodist Church in “Praying Our Way Forward” for the week of March 18-24, 2018.
Loving God,
we ask your blessing upon our church, so that we can be a blessing for the world.
Inspire us with your Holy Spirit.
Ignite the fire of passion for the Gospel in us.
Open our hearts, our minds, and our doors for those in need of your love.
Grant us creativity, compassion, and persistence in our mission to invite people into your life changing presence.
Gracious God,
we pray for the Commission on a Way Forward and the Council of Bishops while they are completing their work.
Help them to guide us on our way forward.
Open our hearts and our minds to you and to one another.
Grant us trust and confidence when we together seek your will.
Let us all be faithful witnesses of your love. Amen.
