Hello! Here is an announcement I made recently, plus some announcements I received from others:
#1 - MEMO TO CAMP EMPLOYEES AND DISTRICT LEADERS (Source: DS)
Effective August 1, 2018, Kris Miller will assume the Camp Director position and Mike Keleher will move into the Project/Maintenance Manager position. This is in keeping with the succession management plan agreed to by me, the camp Executive Committee and the District Advisory Board.
As you are aware, Kris has been serving as Director Elect for the months of June and July. This has given him the opportunity to get to know you better, plus learn the operation and ministry of the camp firsthand in preparation to assume the Director position.
Mike and Cindy will continue their tenure with the camp through September 4, 2018. They have graciously agreed to be available to assist Kris as he deems necessary in the future.
I am grateful for your commitment to the ministry of Pinerock Camp and Retreat Center. You are an important part of the team and are contributing substantially to its success.
I am confident there are good days ahead for our shared ministry!
#2 - NEW NYI YOUNG ADULT CAMP (Source: Rev. Ryan Albaugh)
Our first Young Adult camp is coming up in a few short weeks! We'll be enjoying fun in the sun in San Diego, worship on the beach, and fellowship with each other. This is a great opportunity to get plugged into the district NYI and meet other Young Adults in the process.
We are purposely trying to keep the cost low so that everyone wanting to attend may do so. We'll be staying in hotels, so it is vital that we have everyone registered and their deposits sent to the AZNYI office NO LATER than JULY 31. Breakfast and dinner will be covered in the cost, and everyone is responsible to cover their own transportation and lunches.
To register go to www.aznyi.org.
Dates: August 10-12 | Registration from 2:00-5:00 at Ocean Beach
Cost: Deposit $50/person
Quad Occupancy $100/person
Dual Occupancy $150/person
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pastor Ryan Albaugh
ralbaugh@mesanaz.org or 530-310-8290.
#3 - PLNU CONCERT CHOIR (Source: Dr. Ron Benefiel)
The choir is available March 1-3, 2019 for Saturday during the day, Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday evening. The next week is spring break for the students, so there's no class on Monday.
There is no financial obligation. We don't even ask for an offering. But the choir (about 60 strong) would need home stays and some meals. If you have interest in hosting them either on your own or going together with another church, please contact Dr. Ron Benefiel RonBenefiel@PointLoma.edu.
#4 - ALPHA TRAINING OPPORTUNITY (Source: Rev. Jad Levi)
Run Alpha is an opportunity to gather with other churches across the region to experience what it is like to run an Alpha. At this training, we will learn and put into practice some of the unique elements of Alpha like leading small groups and prayer ministry. We will also discuss the story and convictions behind Alpha as well as share best practices to help your church create a space where guests can go on a journey of faith that in the future they would want invite their friends, family, and coworkers into. Finally, we have dedicated time for your team to process how you can run Alpha in your context.
This is designed to be a highly relational and conversational event. Whether you are piloting your first Alpha or have run 10+ Alpha's, this event is for you. When finished, you will have everything you need to run Alpha.
Date: Saturday, August 25, 2018 (9am - 3pm)
Location: La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church
6300 E Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
