Matthew 16:13 When Yeshua came into the territory around Caesarea Philippi, he asked his talmidim, “Who are people saying the Son of Man is?” 14 They said, “Well, some say Yochanan the Immerser, others Eliyahu, still others Yirmeyahu or one of the prophets.” 15 “But you,” he said to them, “who do you say I am?” 16 Shim‘on Kefa answered, “You are the Mashiach, the Son of the living God.” 17 “Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan,” Yeshua said to him, “how blessed you are! For no human being revealed this to you, no, it was my Father in heaven. 18 I also tell you this: you are Kefa,” [which means ‘Rock,’] “and on this rock I will build my Community, and the gates of Sh’ol will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” 20 Then he warned the talmidim not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.; Acts 2:14 Then Kefa stood up with the Eleven and raised his voice to address them: “You Judeans, and all of you staying here in Yerushalayim! Let me tell you what this means! Listen carefully to me!

“In the Last Days, I will pour out from my Spirit upon everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, My son’s school hosts a book fair each year. On one end of the cafeteria, tables and display stands present a variety of books meant to entice the school-aged children into buying a book or several. Included in these displays are items other than books: pencils, pens, stationary, and little toys. Last year my son came home with a couple of books about sharks and an “invisible ink” pen. It was the latest rage at school and kids were having a blast writing secret messages with the undetectable ink. Only those with the pen cap which contains a special “light” could read the messages. As Jesus prepared for his death and resurrection, he asked the disciple who he was. How much of what he had been teaching them did they understand? A variety of replies were offered: John the Baptist, Eijah, Jeremiah, a prophet. It was Simon Peter who revealed the truth: Jesus is the Messiah, the one long awaited. This truth, Jesus pronounced, was revealed not by Peter, but by the “light” of the Father in Heaven. God was the one to reveal the indiscernible message, the hidden mission of Jesus. Have you allowed God to shine his light on the hidden places of your life? It is only through the power of the Spirit that God reveals the grace afforded us by Jesus.
