Encuentro is a weekend outreach event for Nazarene Youth in the Southwest Field. This camp is specially designed for first generation college students as a way to make college a reality.

- Meet Charles Brodhead -
Charles is the Southwest NYI Elevate Coordinator
Charles presently serves as the lead pastor at Kona Coast Church of the Nazarene in Kailua Kona, Hawaii since 2016. Called to life of ministry as a teenager at summer camp, he began his pastoral journey as a youth pastor at the Arlington Avenue COTN. He has been privileged to faithfully serve the Kingdom as a youth pastor, family life pastor and executive pastor at five Nazarene Churches in Riverside, Fresno, Bakersfield, Auburn and Lompoc, CA.
Charles and his beautiful wife Leesa have been married for 31 years and have three adult married children, Charles D (married to Shandy Lee), Emylee (married to Daniel Giese) and Chadwynn (married to Destiney), two adorable granddaughters (Kaylee & Charytee), a grandson on the way, and a mischievous Old English Bulldog named Leila. Charles is a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoys such hobbies as scuba diving, sports, coaching, cooking, music, reading, travel, and playing with his grand kids.

A: scuba diving, traveling and cooking
Q: If I was an animal, what would I be and why?
A: ORCA - the King/queen of the sea...encircling the globe with my pod (family and fellow brother and sister orcas) exploring the deep depths and the vast unknown of the oceans.
Q: If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be?
A: Passionate, Driven and Giving
