Pastor Jason Gant for Friday, August 28, 2015  Weekly eNote from The Resurrection United Methodist Church West in Olathe, Kansas, United States

Resurrection West,
Yesterday many of our staff members across our campuses spent time in prayer, learning, brainstorming, and writing our workshops for this year’s leadership Institute at the Leawood campus. We will welcome over 2,000 pastors and lay leaders Sept. 30 - Oct. 2 to be inspired and equipped returning to their churches with theory and practice in ministry they might implement. I have the privilege of teaching two workshops this year; The Power of Vision Casting and Caring for Teens in Times of Trouble. So far we have 39 states represented in those registered and a few foreign countries. This is always an exciting time as we conference together with the shared dream to build God’s kingdom here! This is also a great opporuntity to serve. Come and be a part of our vision to renew churches by providing hospitality and support to these guests coming from churches across the nation and the world. Many volunteers are needed to provide Resurrection hospitality including: Greeters, Ushers, Direction Hosts, Parking Lot Greeters, Workshop Hosts, Registration Hosts, Meal and Break Hosts and more. To register to volunteer, go to cor.org/leadership-renewal and click on the "Leadership Institute volunteer form" on the right side of the page. Questions? Contact Kari Burgess, on our Catalyst staff team, at kari.burgess@cor.org or 913-232-4139.
This past Monday at the blood drive, we set a new record with 76 pints donated! Wow! What a great way to live out our faith in a tangible way.
Pastor Adam continues this Sunday in our Searching For Truth series as we seek to understand The Holy Spirit. We will also have an emphasis on our partnership with St. Paul School of Theology. We will welcome St. Paul representatives to read scripture and a table where you can find out about pastoral education. You will remember that we set a goal to identify and encourage 200 people by 2020 to follow their call to pastoral ministry. You will meet one of our own RezWest members who is one of those 200 on Sunday!
