"The Best Gift" for Friday, 9 March 2018 - goTandem
Salvation is God's gracious gift to us. Paul describes salvation to his friends at Rome with these words from Romans 3:23-24: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
He says we are justified. That means God treats us as if we were righteous. Secondly, He says, "it's by His grace." It has nothing to do with me. We are saved by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Redemption is simply a ransom that's been paid for our sin. And all of this is His free gift to us.
God has a lot to say about His precious gift of salvation.
