While we all enjoy a great firework display, sometimes it's important to remember what this holiday is all about. This Independence Day, we at RespectAbility reflect on the importance of freedom and acceptance in being able to achieve the American Dream. While as a nation we celebrate individuality, in practice this does not always happen, especially for people with disabilities. At RespectAbility, we strive to enable people with disabilities to have the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else — the ability to be respected for our talents, valued as human beings, and to be able to contribute to the betterment of the world.
