Introduction: We celebrate this weekend of the independence of this country from the United Kingdom. We realize that through the decades there have been people before us who have given their lives that we may be able to live in relative freedom of religion and freedom to live to worship or not to worship God as we please. Too often, this freedom has been for certain people and not others. We realize that this country has imprisoned or enslaved people who were of the African descent as well as the native nations that lived in this country before the European descent people came to this country. Then, as a nation we even enslaved the Asian population as railroad workers without giving them citizenship rights. Then during World War II we enslaved the Japanese descent in camps because were afraid they were going to fight alongside the Japanese in Japan. We realize that true freedom was paid by the life and death then the resurrection of God who came to this earth as Jewish man. His coming was a promise to the nation of Israel that they would receive freedom from their oppressors as well as all people in the world their freedom. This freedom with the blood of Jesus was costly that all people who be able to live in peace and harmony among each other. We have not yet arrived to this point because certain people want to remain in control of themselves and others without realize that full control is in God. God is calling us to confess our sins to be able to live as Jesus did and through His Holy Spirit to live in Unconditional Love with God and all other people. Yes, this means all people of all nations whether they are differently abled or not. How are you doing in your neighborhood? How are you doing when families from other nations send their children to the United States illegally to escape poverty, gangs, war, drugs, etc.? May we come to realize that the children who have come to our country illegally are hear they we may show them the unconditional love that God gives us to spread in our words and actions to all other people. Come and heal our land to be the place where all people are welcome and to live in communities shalom with each other no matter what our faith or lack of faith is. Come Holy Spirit guide us.

Invitation: We are invited by Jesus Himself to receive His Unforced Rhythms of Grace as we come and eat His body and drink His blood through the Holy Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. We come to receive from Jesus singing this Hymn “GOD WITH US! O GLORIOUS NAME!
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” by Sarah Slinn, 1777
1. God with us! O glorious name!
Let it shine in endless fame:
God and man in Christ unite;
O mysterious depth and height!
2. God with us! the eternal Son
Took our soul, our flesh, and bone;
Now, ye saints, His grace admire,
Swell the song with holy fire.
3. God with us! but tainted not
With the first transgressor’s blot;
Yet did He our sins sustain,
Bear the guilt, the curse, the pain.
4. God with us! O wondrous grace!
Let us see Him face to face;
That we may Immanuel sing,
As we ought, our God and king!
Benediction: Let us go from this place of confession and worship to live out His Unforced Rhythms of Grace in all areas of our lives.
