Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Tuesday, 1 July 2014 "Come to the Waters"
Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost (Isaiah 55:1).
If Isaiah 40:31 is my favorite verse in the Hebrew Bible, Isaiah 55 would be my favorite chapter. It is such a wonderful chapter. It begins with this extravagant invitation to quench our thirst, free without charge; an invitation Jesus extends to the woman at the well, and to all the world, and to you and me.
