Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Monday, 7 July 2014 "Jeremiah"
The word of The Lord came to Jeremiah saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:4, 5).
We continue our journey through the Bible, and come now to the second of the great Prophets: Jeremiah. This verse reminds us of an important truth: God knows us before we knew anything; God knows us more than we know ourselves. And, just like with Jeremiah, God has set YOU apart, and God has appointed you to a specific task and role.
Right now it might be being the best parent you can be, or the best boss you can be, or the best neighbor, or to engage a new or current ministry. I believe every one of us has a unique calling, and I'm praying God will show you the way into yours.
