Thursday, 28 April 2016 "The Discipline of Self-Control"
He showed astonishing self-control, and this in turn required great effort on his part. In many ways, by temperament, he has all the volatility of his French and Irish ancestors. His instincts were to become angry or exasperated easily, but very rarely did he allow such reactions to be visible externally. And on the very few occasions when he did show even so much as a gesture of impatience he would profoundly and sincerely apologize afterwards.[Jean Vanier, of his father, Georges P. Vanier, In Weakness, Strength page 28]
