Resurrection West,
This Sunday we conclude the Adventure series with what will be a moving and inspirational message reminding us that we are Never Alone. We will look at the deep friendship of David and Jonathan in 1 Samuel, along with testimony from our own Justin van OpDorp and Jeff Rothen on their journey to competing in Ultra-marathons! Justin runs and Jeff is his support. Their incredible experiences of accomplishment, injury, pain, and triumph gives a powerful picture of what an adventurous life with Christ can be. If you’ve got a friend who is a runner, reach out right now and invite them to join us in worship this Sunday!
Inside our Sanctuary are two steel beams measuring 20 feet in length. They are painted white and ready to receive your mark of hope, prayers, scripture, and dreams for the future of RezWest. They will be a part of the framing of the new permanent front door entrance to the facility. The rest of the steel comes in next week and we will begin to see the steel structure coming up before our eyes. I had the opportunity to tour the Omega Concrete plant and see the 18 panels they have fabricated for the exterior of our phase 2 building. Together these panels weigh over 100 tons and are made with all local materials, including sand from the Kaw river. Come to worship ready to make your mark on the beams this Sunday! I'll also share some video footage of what was laid beneath the foundation this week from our kids!
We will be celebrating communion in our morning services on Sunday (we do this monthly in the morning services) and each week in our 5pm service. A great way to worship and serve God is to serve Holy Communion. You can do this individually, with your child, or with a friend. Many of you have commented on how meaningful it is to serve God this way. If you would be interested in serving Communion sometime in the 9am or 10:45am services, please contact our coordinator Colby Jones at colbyjones.cpa@gmail.com. If you would like to serve at the 5pm service please contact our coordinator Jill Harsh at jgharsh@gmail.com. They will provide all the training you need.
Tomorrow morning from 8am - 9:30am we will welcome Dayton Moore, General Manager of the World Championship Kansas City Royals to speak at our men’s breakfast. We have over 150 guys registered and are prepared for some walk-ins. He will have signed books including a new chapter he wrote following the World Series win for sale and the breakfast is catered by HyVee (cash only). Looking forward to seeing many of you there!

KiDSCOR - Why Team Summer? During the school year, our children’s ministry welcomes over 300 kids every week. That’s 300 faces we get to lock eyes with, 300 hands we get to high-five, 300 names we call out in recognition, 300 hearts and minds that need to know they matter to God. For the 9 months of our school year, an army of 150 volunteers commit to serving children and families in this way each and every month. It’s our pleasure to give them a break during the summer to say thank you and provide a time of renewal. To continue to reach children, keep them safe and help them know the truth about who they are, a fresh summer volunteer team is vital. We invite you to walk alongside our children as they grow in their faith and as they ask important questions. You might just find yourself growing in your own faith as you serve. We’ll equip you with all you need to get started. Please sign up today at cor.org/west/teamsummer or contact christie.walker@cor.org.

Resurrection West Sports Camp and Vacation Bible Camp, “Meet the Royals”! Two great opportunities for kids this summer, one amazing week of fun! Registration is now open for RezWest Sports Camp and RezWest VBC. Both camps will take place June 20-24; Sports camp (Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football & Cheerleading) will be held in the morning, followed by VBC “Meet the Royals” in the afternoon. Register for one or both of these events. A supervised “sack lunch” time will be held for those who participate in both activities. We hope to help hundreds of kids grow in faith, wisdom and friendship through these programs, so we will need many volunteers - youth and adults! All parents who volunteer for VBC and have children younger than kindergarten will be able to register their little ones in early childhood VBC or nursery. If you are interested in participating in or volunteering for either camp, please go to cor.org/west/VBC2016 for more information and registration.
Two Male Cabin Leaders Needed for Youthfront - 4th and 5th graders head to Youthfront Camp in July! Our July 6-9th group has the largest group of boys yet going to camp and we are in need of 2 male cabin volunteers. Volunteers assist a Youthfront staff person during the time at camp and ensure a safe space for campers by providing 2 unrelated adults in a cabin at all times. Cabin leaders must be 18 years of age or older and will be given proper background screening. Contact Christie.walker@cor.org if you or someone you know is interested!
Thursday LIVE! Register today for the women's summer study - Normal people are stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. And when it comes to God, the majority believe in him, but the teachings of scripture rarely make it into their everyday lives. Simply put, normal isn’t working. Join us as we study Craig Groeschel’s book, “Weird, Because Normal Isn’t Working”. Class dates are July 7, 14, 21 and 28, meeting from 9:30-11:30am. Childcare is available with registration at cor.org/west/thursdaylive.
