Special eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown of Kansas City, Missouri, United States
Greetings RezDowntowners,
I hope this message finds you doing well on this chilly start to Wednesday. Last night we hosted a building committee meeting and after about two hours of dreaming about the future of our church, and I found myself sitting there overwhelmed with gratitude for this group of people (all volunteers) so committed to the purpose and vision of our church! From the very beginning of RezDowntown we have been led by people giving of their time, their gifts, and their whole heart to the mission of building Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people are becoming deeply committed Christians. If you would like to see the most recent updates regarding our Building Project, please visit build.cor.org/downtown. We have some preliminary renderings, including schematic design, timeline information and an area for frequently asked questions.
Tomorrow night, we have a chance to celebrate all of our volunteers that give of their time and service to Christ through this church. We also want to use this evening as an opportunity for you to invite your friends to join us in serving! Tomorrow night, on October 13th at 6:30pm at 1522 McGee we'll be hosting a great party for you! We call it our VOLUNTEER CELEBRATION!!! I'll be offering a brief message, we'll be sharing our new #Serve t-shirts and we'll also be unveiling the long anticipated staff team video thank you! Register at at cor.org/downtown/volunteercelebration or for any other questions, please contactshannon.endicott@cor.org.
It is such a privilege to be a part of this community...Have a great week in KC and I'll look forward to seeing you tomorrow night! Also, if you weren't able to attend worship last weekend, here's a link to my sermon from this past Sunday on the Good Life!!!
Blessings,
Scott
