"When You Need the Truth" by Debbie Goodwin
1 John 2:18 Children, this is the Last Hour. You have heard that an Anti-Messiah is coming; and in fact, many anti-Messiahs have arisen now — which is how we know that this is the Last Hour. 19 They went out from us, but they weren’t part of us; for had they been part of us, they would have remained with us.
20 But you have received the Messiah’s anointing from HaKadosh, and you know all this. 21 It is not because you don’t know the truth that I have written to you, but because you do know it, and because no lie has its origin in the truth. 22 Who is a liar at all, if not the person who denies that Yeshua is the Messiah? Such a person is an anti-Messiah — he is denying the Father and the Son. 23 Everyone who denies the Son is also without the Father, but the person who acknowledges the Son has the Father as well. 24 Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you will also remain in union with both the Son and the Father. 25 And this is what he has promised us: eternal life.
26 I have written you these things about the people who are trying to deceive you. 27 As for you, the Messianic anointing you received from the Father remains in you, so that you have no need for anyone to teach you. On the contrary, as his Messianic anointing continues to teach you about all things, and is true, not a counterfeit, so, just as he taught you, remain united with him.

Who are the truth-tellers in your life? Whose voices influence your priorities, values, and lifestyle? Whether they lead you to the truth or not depends on whether they follow their own understanding of truth or the truth of God.
John reminded his readers that anyone can follow the wrong teacher. A fine-sounding, contemporary message can easily lead someone astray. Anyone can let logic trump truth. Logic uses specific principles to guide conclusions; the Holy Spirit embodies truth that has no beginning and no end. A relationship with Christ connects you to that timeless truth in ways that transform you from the inside out. Real truth-tellers point us to Christ before they point to some interpretation or philosophy. This is truth that wears well and needs no updating.
The mistake many make is to ask the wrong question. The question is not “what” the truth is; the question is “who” the truth is. Jesus Christ and His Spirit embody all truth. He bridges generations, political movements, and personal interpretations. His truth draws an eternal circle you want inside. When He is your truth, you have all the truth you need.

Hymn for Today: "Open My Eyes, That I May See" by Clara H. Scott
1. Open my eyes, that I may see
glimpses of truth thou hast for me;
place in my hands the wonderful key
that shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!
2. Open my ears, that I may hear
voices of truth thou sendest clear;
and while the wavenotes fall on my ear,
everything false will disappear.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit divine!
3. Open my mouth, and let me bear
gladly the warm truth everywhere;
open my heart and let me prepare
love with thy children thus to share.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit divine!

Thought for Today: Isaiah 30:21 With your ears you will hear a word from behind you:“This is the way; stay on it,
whether you go to the right or the left.”

Please Pray: That many people in Jordan will come to know Yeshua the Messiah and receive the fullness of the Ruach HaKodesh.
