We become like what we worship. Worship is that object or person on which we primarily focus; it is that on which we spend most of our time and energy; it is that into which we invest the most. We become like that which we most value. Focus on the empty and hollow and you will become empty and hollow. The god of consumerism degenerates us into sub-human consumers. The god of pleasure makes us into a god that is ever looking for better and more stimulating experiences. Worship the Lord Jesus Christ, value Him, spend time with Him and you will be changed into His likeness.
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 (NASB))
