The problem with prayer is...

Robert Ladd introduces our 4-week series on prayer by focusing on some of the problems we have with it:

• I can’t concentrate for more than a few minutes.

• I keep forgetting to do it; too busy.

• I can’t tell when God has answered No.

• I’m too depressed/hurting to pray.

• I don’t feel like praying.

• I don’t have much faith in it.

Psalm 13:1-6, The Message

A David Psalm

1-2 Long enough, God—

    you’ve ignored me long enough.

I’ve looked at the back of your head

    long enough. Long enough

I’ve carried this ton of trouble,

    lived with a stomach full of pain.

Long enough my arrogant enemies

    have looked down their noses at me.

3-4 Take a good look at me, God, my God;

    I want to look life in the eye,

So no enemy can get the best of me

    or laugh when I fall on my face.

Christmas at COR: 20 down

We have 5 primo tickets left from the 25 we bought.
   $20 tickets, which reflects a discount we got for good looks.
   We're going into a matinee performance on Saturday, December 14, at 1 p.m., followed by a meal for a coalition of the willing.
   These are great seats at a great time, after the performers have had a chance to hone their skills.
I'm running late, but here's an inside scoop for those of you who attend the class (not everyone who gets this comes to class).
   The person who got hotlined to the state last weekend for elder abuse had a heart attack a couple days later. Open-heart surgery to follow.
