Pastor Jason Gant for Friday, August 14, 2015  Weekly eNote from The Resurrection United Methodist Church West in Olathe, Kansas, United States

Resurrection West,
Its been a great week of preparation at the Gant house as we launched our daughter’s into 1st and 4th grade. It was an exciting time as they met their new teachers, reconnected with friends, and learned of new experiences they will have this year. I am so proud of my daughter’s and wanted to say a special word of thanks to their mom who pours out everything she has to care, guide, and encourage their growth as children of God! Hailey, our 4th grader, was most excited to see her friends. Kaia, our 1st grader, was most excited to share that she was missing her front tooth!

I found myself living through their excitement of what the school year brings across the life of our church! We have been praying about this new series we are calling - Searching For Truth, what Christians believe and why. Sunday Pastor Adam begins to explore the meaning of our faith as we look to the words of the Apostle’s Creed to guide us. This will be a great exploration of heart and intellect as we discover and re-discover our journey with God. May we all plan to be in worship and make that weekly commitment to God and to one another as we move into this season!
Consider also being a part of our REVIVAL: Faith as Wesley lived it study this fall on Monday nights for 6-weeks, kicking off September 14th. I am meeting with our group who journeyed to England tonight to plan out each teaching session. We’ll start with a meal and then seek “revival” in our own hearts and minds as Christ’s followers. All are welcome. Your small group might consider participating. For more information and to register, contact Dave.Robertson@cor.org

For more information or to register, contact Congregational Care Minister Rosemary Plum at rosemary.plum@cor.org.
I am so excited to see all these opportunities here to connect, grow, serve, and care together at Resurrection West. Our Group Life and Care ministries are filled with people coming together to learn, laugh, and love. It’s in these smaller settings that you can see the Spirit of God move and breath, as we become one another’s stretcher-bearers. I had the privilege of spending an evening with one of our small groups this week. Hearing them tell their stories my heart was warmed! Jesus modeled smaller groups in his relationships with the disciples. They cared for one another, held one another accountable to their faith walk, and above all else sought to follow Christ! I want that for every one of us. Consider joining a smaller group or care group this fall!
Looking forward to worshiping with you Sunday,
Pastor Jason
