Dear Friends,
I want to share two things:
1. Some of you have asked if there might be any additional items we need for the new Welcome Center that aren't covered already, and the answer is "Yes!" We didn't have the cost of items in and around the Welcome Center in the original budget, so they are over and above, extra. If any of you would like to contribute one or more of these items, that would be great. Here they are:
1. 6 Black Steel Benches - $1,100 each.
2. 2 Large, Black, Steel Waste Receptacles - $845.00 each
3. 8 sections of landscaping - $1,000 each.
4. 1 Sink - $650
5. 2 Coffee Brewers - $587 each
6. 3 Coffee Servers - $244 each
7. 1 Refrigerator - $1,175.
8. 1 Ice Cuber With Bin - $407

2. We have a rare opportunity this Sunday afternoon at 5:00 to hear directly from a Christian Pastor who lives in Pakistan and knows first hand about the persecution of Christians in many parts of the world, including his own church. Through a mutual friend I have met Rev. Augustine Joseph and he is able to be with us this Sunday afternoon. For months now we've heard and seen reports of persecution of Christians; this will be a unique opportunity to learn directly from one who is there. We will meet in Room 232 in the Education Wing at 5:00. I know many of you will want to be there, as we will learn some specific things we might do to help. Also, Pastor Augustine will be here in Gainesville from Friday night through Monday at noon, so if any of you would like to meet with him one-to-one, I'll be happy to arrange to get him to you. And if any of your Sunday School classes would like to have him share with you this Sunday, let me know.
