Friday, August 12, 2016Pastor Penny Ellwood's eNote from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Blue Springs in Blue Springs, Missouri, United States for Friday, 12 August 2016Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
Every parent I’ve talked with this week is in back to school mode. It’s hard to believe it’s that time already! As most of our children will begin classes next week, this Sunday will be “promotion Sunday” during worship. Our children and youth will move up to their next grade-level after we take a moment during worship to bless the backpacks and offer prayers for all our students and educators. Encourage your children to bring their backpacks for the blessing.
This Sunday we will begin an exciting new sermon series by Pastor Adam. We’ll have the opportunity to experience the places where the story of Moses and the Exodus took place. Through original video clips filmed on location in Egypt – including the pyramids, Luxor, the Nile River delta and the Sinai wilderness – we’ll explore how the remarkable story of Moses continues to speak to our lives today. Invite someone to come worship with us – you can share this video invitation with them: https://vimeo.com/177806371
I’m going to keep it short this week as we’re in the midst of hosting The Global Leadership Summit in our sanctuary. We have 50 participants here listening to world-class speakers teach about leadership principles. John Maxwell, one of my favorite writers on this subject is up next so I want to take some notes.
Be sure to take a close look below at all the classes we have starting soon. . .
