Sunday Worship. Join us in worship this Sunday as Pastor Antonio M. Settles, Senior Pastor St. Andrew UMC, is the Men's Day guest preacher. The sermon is "When the End Becomes the Beginning" from 1 Corinthians 13:11 and 1 Kings 19:19-21.
Wednesday Night Live. Stay cool in the Ministry Mall tonightduring Wednesday Night Live! Dinner will be served from 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Childcare is provided for ages 1-4, with activities for children and youth ages 5-18. Worship begins at 7 p.m. with praise and worship, followed by a powerful and relevant word.
Labor Day Holiday. There will be one worship celebration at each campus Sunday, September 4th - 9:00 a.m. @ Paseo and10:30 am @ Renaissance. Please note: the church office will be closed Monday, September 5th.
Men's Weekend 2016 - Theme: "Boys to Men in Prayer"
Friday, August 19th, 6pm - Pastor's 100 Men Fellowship Dinner. Join us at 6 p.m. at the PeachTree Buffet. Tickets are $15, and available from any member of the United Methodist Men.
Saturday, August 20th, 9am - Boys to Men Prayer Summit.There is no cost for this event, but advance registration is requested. Click here to register now.
Sunday, August 21st, 8am and 11am - Men's Day. Pastor Antonio Settles of St. Andrew UMC is our guest preacher. The Master's Men Choir and Majestic Men Dancers will all minister in music.Couples Ministry. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, August 27th. The Couples Ministry has planned a Bowling Night at Premier Bowling (Raytown) and would like you to come. We'll get bowling at 5:00 PM so come early to get your striped shoes on! The Tuesday night Bible study growth group is on break until September 13. Stay tuned for updates.
If you missed the summer session, a new session will be held this fall at the Paseo Campus. "I Am A Church Member - Discovering the Attitude that Makes the Difference," by Thom S. Rainer is a six week growth group that begins Tuesday, September 13th at 6 p.m. Come and experience what it means to be a functioning church member. Gain understanding about your role as a part of the body of Christ. Danny and Bronna Woods are the facilitators. Books are available at your favorite local or online retailer. Click here to register.
Encouragement Ministry. Simply sign your name to a 'thinking of you' or encouragement card. Write the name of a person on the 'At Home' listing of our prayer list on the envelope and place it in the collection box in the Narthex. Cards are collected on the first Sunday of each month. Pancake Breakfast. The Master's Men are hosting a Chris Cakes pancake breakfast Sunday, August 28th from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $7.00. Contact Mike Hobson at 913-461-1100 or see a choir member to purchase ticket. Proceeds support the choir's 2016 "Get on the Bus" Tour.
Conversation on Race. Join Pastor Cleaver and Pastor Adam Hamilton Tuesday, August 30th at 6 p.m. for "A Conversation on Race." Pastors Cleaver and Hamilton will engage in a one-on-one dialogue. Attendees will be invited to break into small groups and continue the conversation over dessert.
DeFeet Hunger 5K Run/Walk. Join UMCs across the metro to help Harvester's fight hunger. The annual DeFeet Hunger Run/Walk is Saturday, September 10th at 8:00 a.m. here at the Paseo Campus. Registration is $30 and available online untilAugust 31. Join volunteers at 9:00 a.m. following the race at9:00 a.m., volunteers will gather to pack lunches for Harvesters. All proceeds from the event are used to purchase the food to pack lunches. If you would like to register for the run/walk, volunteer during the race, pack lunches or contribute to the event, visit the DeFeet Hunger website.
