"Remember: Becoming Who You Are"
Your True Self is who you are in God and who God is in you. (Sunday)
Your life is not about you. You are about life. (Monday)
Love is what you are. (Tuesday)
Inside your True Self, you know you are not alone, and you foundationally “belong” to God and to the universe. (Wednesday)
There is a part of you that . . . is awareness itself (as opposed to judgment itself). (Thursday)
The putting together of the human and the divine is clearly our task and our supreme vocation. (Friday)
"Rest: River Flow"
Contemplative prayer requires a “yes” rather than a “no” kind of energy. Resisting thoughts and sensations inevitably increases the strength of those distractions. However, simply observing them and letting them go allows contemplative prayer to truly be a practice in surrender.
Visualizing a river may help you move to a welcoming, “yes” approach to prayer. Imagine that you are lying in a river, supported by a firm bed of rock, looking up at the ripples and sky above. As floating leaves and debris come into view, notice them, then let them drift on by. There’s no need to follow them downstream; you are rooted firm and still to the riverbed. Welcome and release. The river flows over and around you, never disturbing the deep peace of Earth holding water.
Gateway to Silence: Love is the presence of God within me.
