Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Tuesday, 17 June 2014 "Reason Together"

Trinity United Methodist Church Daily Scripture Email Devotion for Tuesday, 17 June 2014 "Reason Together"
"Come now, let us reason together," says The Lord.  "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." (Isaiah 1:18).
Oh, that we might listen to Isaiah in our day, and come together and reason together!  Instead of shouting at each other, or vilifying each other, talking past each other, trying to overpower the other, instead of all that, "come now, let us reason together!" Oh, how much better our world would be, our communities.  Have we lost the ability to do this?  I pray not.
And, while we cannot control whether others will do it, we can determine ourselves to do it, even though it is exhausting, difficult and challenging.  But, it really is what God wants.  In our text, God - the God of the Universe - is even willing to come and reason together!  If God is, then you and I should be too.
God bless, Dan
