Living in the Power of the Spirit
Dr. Chic Shaver will be leading a new session of Living in the Power of the Spirit, beginning on Thursday, June 10 at 7:30pm. The session will be titled "12 People Meeting for 12 Weeks for 12 Studies on the Work of the Spirit in the Life of the Believer". The group will meet every Thursday in the Southside Room. Class workbooks are $13 and may be purchased at the first meeting. During the first session, it will be decided whether the remaining sessions will take place from 6:00-7:30pm or from 7:30-9:00pm. Compassion Opportunities This Summer
Over the next few weeks, culminating on July 27, our upcoming Compassion Sunday, we will be collecting items for Blessing Bags. These bags can be placed in your car for moments when you encounter someone in need in our community. Please bring the following items to the mission display in the sanctuary foyer, and we will store them for the packing night on July 27. Leftover items will be given to another great cause--Crisis Care Kits that our church has been a part of assembling over the last year. Contact Margie Schwarz or Pastor Roland for more information!

District Youth Camp
Registration for the KC District Youth Camp is now open at kcdistrict.org! Camp this year will be held on July 7-11.
Registration cost is $285.

Fun for Kids!
Parents, mark your calendars for these fun events coming soon!
July 18: Girls' Night Out! We will meet in the Children's Chapel at 6:30pm for a Rainbow Loom party! If you know how to make rainbow loom bracelets and already have supplies, bring them! If you don't know how to make them, or don't have supplies, come anyway! We can make some to keep and some to send to children in Haiti!
Youth Mission Trip Fundraiser
Need help around the house? 
Have a yard that needs mowing?
Looking for a babysitter for next weekend? Our teens are offering their services this summer as they raise money for their upcoming trip to the Navajo Christian Foundation in Winslow, Arizona. If you would be interested in hiring a teen, or would like to find out more, please stop by the table in the foyer this Sunday!
Youth Mission Trip
This summer, our teens will be going to Winslow, Arizona to work with the Navajo Christian Foundation from July 19-27. Speak with Pastor Roland for more details.
Kansas City District Assembly
The Kansas City District Assembly & Conventions for 2014 will take place on August 5-7. Plan now to be a part of these special events and services with other Nazarenes from the Kansas City area! For a full listing of scheduled events, please use this link: Assembly Schedule. 
If you have been elected to serve as a delegate to either the NMI Convention, or the District Assembly, and find that you are now unable to serve, please contact the church office (816.942.9022 or kcfc@kcfc.org) as soon as possible so that an alternate can be contacted.

During the summer, the First Church gymnasium will be open on Tuesday mornings from 10:00am-12:00pm for a time of unstructured fun and fellowship for kids and their parents! GriefShare
If you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend you have probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt that you feel. KC First's GriefShare group meets on Saturdays at 10:00am to pray, discuss, and watch videos on relevant topics.

Young Adult "Encounter"

Men's Prayer Breakfast
Gentlemen, before beginning your Friday each week, enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast with a group of First Church men. We meet every Friday at 6:30am in the church atrium. Every first Friday of the month, we serve a hot breakfast. Contact Chip Kraft for more information.
