Kansas City, Missouri, United States The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown Enote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, 26 September 2014

Friday, 26 September 2014,
Greetings RezDowntowners,
It is great to be writing you in the midst of Leadership Institute 2014.  Since Wednesday, we have been playing host to over 2000 church leaders from across the country at Resurrection Downtown and Resurrection Leawood.  This is, perhaps, my favorite time of the year.  Not only does it provide our staff and community with an opportunity to connect with church leaders from all over the United States to dream about the future of the church, but it also allows me an opportunity to remember our church’s story.  On Wednesday, we were blessed to share how God has been working through you over these past four years with a group of over 50 clergy serving churches in cities throughout the country. Together we remembered stories of transformation, growth and life change the energy was exciting and inspiring to say the least.  Then later that same day on Wednesday evening we hosted over 300 people in our sanctuary for a (larger than normal) Living Room Worship Session with Glory Revival.
Our staff team led teaching sessions in Leawood, I was able to preach during worship, and Justin and Matt were able to lead in song.  As I’ve processed this weekend, I realized that God is doing amazing things here, and has been for almost 5 years.  This Christmas we’ll be celebrating our fifth birthday as a church, and one of the things I would love for you to do is to help me to remember the best parts of this community.  Below you’ll find a link to help us by sharing your fondest memories of RezDowntown.  I would love to hear your own stories of life change and transformation.
Lastly, I am looking forward to worship this weekend as I’ll be preaching live downtown, a message of mission and purpose.  We’ll talk about what it means to live missionally and to discover the life that really is life.  I hope you’ll join us at any of our worship services, but if you worship on Sundaymorning, I’d love for you to attend our 10:15 service on Grand in order to continue making room for people at our other services.
In the meantime, here are several ways to get plugged into the life of the church at RezDowntown:
