Health 4 All - Save the Children "These Children Need You" for Monday, 29 September 2014

Our month-long fundraising partnership with Univision is drawing to a close… but there are still thousands of refugee children in desperate need—and I hope you’ll join me in making a small donation right now to help them. While we’re no longer seeing images of overcrowded and inhumane facilities on our TV screens and newspaper front pages, a harsh new reality has set in for many of these children. They’re in a new place, with new people, learning a new language. They face an immigration hearing that will determine whether they’re sent back to the terrifying violence they barely managed to escape in the first place.  While our nation guarantees these children from Central America a hearing, it doesn’t guarantee them a lawyer. And so without our help, children as young as four or five years old will be expected to make a case to an immigration judge alone about why they ought to be able to stay in the United States. We started this effort with Univision and other foundations because we believe that all children, regardless of where they were born, deserve the chance to lead healthy and safe lives.
