people with disabilities to create a better future for themselves.
We have a historic opportunity, but we urgently need to raise $40,000 so we
can hire a full time professional to expand our outreach to governors.
Indeed, despite partisan politics, both parties came together to pass the
Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA). It's the most important
legislation for people with disabilities passed since the Americans With
Disabilities Act (ADA). WIOA is a culmination of hard work in educating
leaders on the value that people with disabilities can bring to the
workplace. But the real work has just begun, as now every governor must
create their own plan to tackle this problem, which impacts millions of
Americans with disabilities. But will those plans contain the failed policies
of the past, or will they use proven means to get real results? It's up to us
all. We urgently need your support today to ensure we can follow up with every governor
to make sure they have the facts they need to put smart policies in place
before the gates close on this opportunity.
