Chabad "Our children" Updates for Tuesday, 11 Nissan, 5775 * March 31, 2015

Dear Friend,
As we prepare our homes for the Passover holiday, we are charged to focus also on the spiritual meaning of the holiday, as it applies to our own service of G-d.
With this in mind, we'd like to share a thought with you:
The seder revolves around G-d's command in the Torah, "You shall relate [the story of our exodus from Egypt] to your child." Indeed, as we retell our 3,300-year-old redemption story, we encourage our children to ask lots of questions (think: "the Four Questions").
All four types of children (the Wise, Wicked, Simple and Knows Not How to Ask) are welcome at the seder table, and our collective seder is incomplete without them.
The Rebbe, of righteous memory (whose 113th anniversary of birth and 100 years since his bar-mitzvah we mark today), often observed that Passover's emphasis on the child teaches us that the true existence of the Jewish home – and the Jewish people as a whole – is dependent upon engaging the younger generation, boys and girls, wise and (temporarily) wicked, simple and those who know not what to ask. They must all be nurtured and taught the beautiful ways of the Torah.
We cannot shirk our responsibility to our child and say, "My child is wise; he (or she) will find his own way in life. No education is necessary for him (or her)." Nor may we despair and say, "This child is a wicked one; no education will help him (or her)."
In similar vein, all Jewish children, boys and girls, men and women, are "G-d's children," and it is our sacred duty to help them live up to this extraordinary merit and responsibility.

At Chabad.org, each member of our staff lives this responsibility day in and day out: We know that we are each individually accountable to every Jew on Planet Earth. Our destinies are intertwined.
Every single day each member of our team works his and her hardest to ensure that every single child and adult has access to the intellectual, spiritual and practical resources necessary to fulfill their responsibilities to G-d, to family, to community and to the world at large; that each can proudly proclaim – and find meaning in – our shared Jewish identity.
And so, day in and day out, an endless stream of people, from all walks of life, arrives to Chabad.org to learn, explore, discover and plug into the global Jewish community. And our team aims to serve them, 'round the clock. There is simply nothing more important to us.

If you have not yet sold your chametz this year, you can still do so here.
