Reflecting God - Embrace Holy Living of The Global Church of the Nazarene of Lenexa, Kansas, United States for Sunday, 29 March 2015 - Reflecting God - "Hear Him Speak" Scripture: Psalm 20: (0) For the leader. A psalm of David:
2 (1) May Adonai answer you in times of distress,
may the name of the God of Ya‘akov protect you.
3 (2) May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Tziyon.
4 (3) May he be reminded by all your grain offerings
and accept the fat of your burnt offerings. (Selah)
5 (4) May he grant you your heart’s desire
and bring all your plans to success.
6 (5) Then we will shout for joy at your victory
and fly our flags in the name of our God.
May Adonai fulfill all your requests.
7 (6) Now I know that Adonai
gives victory to his anointed one —
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with mighty victories by his right hand.
8 (7) Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we praise the name of Adonai our God.
9 (8) They will crumple and fall,
but we will arise and stand erect.
10 (9) Give victory, Adonai!
Let the King answer us the day we call.
1 Corinthians 15:53 For this material which can decay must be clothed with imperishability, this which is mortal must be clothed with immortality. 54 When what decays puts on imperishability and what is mortal puts on immortality, then this passage in the Tanakh will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.[a]
55 “Death, where is your victory?
Death, where is your sting?”[b]
56 The sting of death is sin; and sin draws its power from the Torah; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah!
58 So, my dear brothers, stand firm and immovable, always doing the Lord’s work as vigorously as you can, knowing that united with the Lord your efforts are not in vain.[Footnotes:

"Hear Him Speak by Author: Becky Gray
Are you experiencing adversity today? God is near to protect you. Listen closely. Hear Him. He is sending help your way. He respects and supports you more than you will ever know. Feel His Spirit near you. He sees what you are going through. He understands how much you have given up while remaining true to Him and yourself. You have been benevolent to the needs of others and He is aware of your sacrifice. He wants to give you the desire of your heart, but sometimes your desires are not best for you. Trust Him. He wants to make your plans succeed, but perhaps they are outside His will. Can you understand? Open your spiritual mind.
How can a loving God allow unlovely situations to enter the life of His only child? He loves you that much, as if you are His only child. He wants to say “yes” to your requests, but so often they are out of balance with your needs. Now, you know the Lord loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for you. He died for your sin. Will you value yourself enough to receive the gift He has already given?
Hymn for Today: "No One Understands Like Jesus" by John W. Peterson
1. No one understands like Jesus;
He's a Friend beyond compare.
Meet Him at the throne of mercy;
He is waiting for you there.
Refrain:
No one understands like Jesus
When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus;
Cast your every care on Him.
2. No one understands like Jesus;
Every woe He sees and feels.
Tenderly He whispers comfort,
And the broken heart He heals.
 Refrain:
No one understands like Jesus
When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus;
Cast your every care on Him.
3. No one understands like Jesus
When the foes of life assail.
You should never be discouraged;
Jesus cares and will not fail.
 Refrain:
No one understands like Jesus
When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus;
Cast your every care on Him.
4. No one understands like Jesus
When you falter on the way.
Tho' you fail Him, sadly fail Him,
He will pardon you today.
 Refrain:
No one understands like Jesus
When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus;
Cast your every care on Him.
