In Psalms 122:1, David said, "I was glad when they said unto me; Let us go into the house of the LORD." On Resurrection Sunday this year, this was the scripture that was on my mind at 4:30 a.m. Many thoughts through the years have awakened me from a sound sleep. Most, I admit, were not good, but I can't recall scripture being one. I'm usually a logical thinker, so I thought perhaps it was the sound of sleet hitting my window awning. I dismissed this as quickly as I thought it. It was the Lord! He woke me up as He has done every morning. I began to pray, giving Him thanks for this new day, and asking for safe travel to church. I decided to grab my Bible and read that psalm. It did express how I was feeling. I needed to worship the Lord with my church family, take communion and hear Pastor Winston deliver God's message. I continued to read. I turned to Matthew 18:20 and I read when Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Now I am really excited. I could think of no better way to start the day, Time to start getting dressed!

Men's Ministry
Calling all men to prayer, covering the church and becoming the leaders God made us to be.
Proverbs 27:17 says, " As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." All men 13 and older are invited to meet upstairs at church every Saturday to pray, 'sharpen' and be 'sharpened'.
Breaking Chains to Make a Change
Mark your calendar for June 25th, 10am to 4pm, as we plan the second annual Breaking the Chains event and a T-shirt sale. Sis. Carla Nelson has been organizing this event and she has a lot of exciting things planned for kids of all ages and adults. More information will be forthcoming as the date approaches. Volunteers and donations are needed to make this event a success. Contact Sis. Carla Nelson at the church if you can assist in any way.

Featured Testimony
So much has happened this past month it's hard to choose just one testimony! Several people not only experienced a deeper freedom in Jesus after Pastor Jay ministered to them, but they also found their gifts took on a whole new dimension. One woman who laughed when Pastor Winston told her a few years back that she was called to preach actually gave a short sermon after going through just a part of her deliverance. It was so powerful, and she didn't even spend any time in preparation. Another woman who already had the gift of worship is now able to take masses with her into worship, teaching others the intimate aspect of worship. As she worshiped, others began to use gifts of intercession and Pastor Jay was refreshed! It is a beautiful thing when everyone is using the gifts God created them to use. Others were set free from unhealthy family ties. Next month we will share one of these testimonies as it will help others, possibly even you, move from unhealthy family relationships to strong, loving, respectful relationships.
The church itself also saw many blessings as God brings more and more gifts to the ministry. If you don't know what your gift is, or how you can use it to bless your brothers and sisters in the church, please see Minister Joyce Dixon. As God trusts Blue Hills with more people and more resources, your gifts are needed even more.
If you have a testimony of what God has done in your life, please see the communications team.

Next time you see someone at church and don't know their name, introduce yourself. You never know the blessing that may follow.
1 Corinthians 12:27 says, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."
Let's make a point in April to get to know the other parts of our body!
Sermon Highlights
As you know, Resurrection Sunday was a few days ago and the message was on point! Pastor Winston spoke on the topic of love, not only the love Christ has for us, but also the love that we share between each other. He also gave examples on how to differentiate between love and lust. Love is patient and kind. It is not self-seeking, etc. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) Lust is a strong sexual desire which is of the flesh. We don't want to entertain our flesh but instead strengthen our spirit. It is extremely important in our walk with God to not only love him, but to love ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us remember daily that God loved us so much that he gave his only son for us. He did it out of love and so that we may (because of Jesus) be forgiven of our sins. No man took Jesus' life but he laid it down, went through pain and torture, and suffered because he cares about us that much. Easter egg hunts, dressing our best, and eating good food is great but lets not forget the true reason for "Easter" or rather, Resurrection Sunday; that is to realize Jesus rose with all power in his hands, overcame Satan, and has unconditional love for us!
