The Great Plains Conference of The United Methodist Church for Thursday, 16 June 2016 "In Memoriam - Loyd & Patricia Bliss"
Loyd J. Bliss, 96, a retired clergy member of the Great Plains United Methodist Conference
born May 9, 1920, passed away June 10, 2016.
Patricia A. Bliss, 88, spouse of a retired clergy member of the Great Plains United Methodist Conference born Aug. 17, 1927, passed away June 11, 2016.
After Loyd and Patti's marriage in 1947, Loyd attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. Loyd and Patti served United Methodist churches in Douglas-Burr, Lincoln St. James, Aurora, Hastings, Alliance, Scottsbluff and Norfolk, Nebraska, retired in 1985. Patti was so much a part of the church ministry too, leading classes, working in the offices, singing in the choirs and so much more.
They are survived by their children; Linda (Bart) Kline, Susan Bliss and Bill (Dana) Bliss.
A celebration of their lives will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5 at the Cana Chapel at the Cathedral of the Rockies United Methodist Church, 717 N 11th, Boise, ID. In lieu of flowers and if you desire, donations may be made to United Methodist Committee on Relief, (UMCOR) 475 Riverside Drive, Room 1520, New York, NY 10115.
