Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, May 27, 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown in Kansas City, Missouri, United States

Greetings RezDowntowners,
It’s great to write you early this Friday morning. I can hardly believe that it is already Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start to summer! As a way of living into this weekend we’ll be kicking off a new series of sermons called Unsettled: Asking the Tough Questions. I’ll be preaching about the power and importance of asking tough questions as the primary way to become the best versions of the people God created us to be. Jesus’ mission and ministry was filled with questions, almost 40 times more questions than answers. This is something we should pay attention to as we seek to follow Christ.
As a way of kicking things off, this weekend I’ll be looking at how children lead the way and I’ll be sure to include a quick update on Freddy! Also, all weekend long at each worship service we’ll be celebrating as a family, through our Family Worship Weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be involving children and students in every service. It will be a ton of fun! If you would like to be involved please contact,Sarah.Brischle@cor.org. Otherwise, I hope you’ll join us, invite friends and bring your children to worship with you as we kick off the summer together! By the way, we’ll still have childcare available upstairs for children 4 years and younger.
I’m excited to see you this weekend, but in the meantime, here are several ways to get plugged into the life of our church:
