ADVOCACY ALERT"Start a small group with our free curriculum" Prison Fellowship in Landsdowne, Virginia, United States for Tuesday, 2 August 2016
We’ve got exciting news! In October 2016, Prison Fellowship will release Outrageous Justice, a small-group curriculum you can sign-up for here, designed to awaken followers of Jesus in America to the need for justice that restores.
With 2.2 million Americans behind bars, 2.7 million children growing up with a parent behind bars, and 65 million adults affected by the “second prison,” the imbalances of our criminal justice system have reached outrageous proportions. In Scripture, God calls His people to care about and respond to injustice. That’s clear. But given the complexities of our justice system, it’s not always clear how we should think about these issues or what we can do to promote justice and restoration for all those affected by crime and incarceration.
Outrageous Justice is an engaging, 6-week study, is co-authored by the advocacy team and features a study guide, DVD teaching segments, and a companion book that gives in-depth insights into restorative criminal justice reform that reflects biblical priorities. Participants will learn about the challenges in the American criminal justice system and explore how Christians can respond in hands-on ways to bring about true hope, restoration, and healing.
Prison Fellowship is now seeking small groups to pilot Outrageous Justice in their own churches in the fall of 2016. Pilot participants will play an important role in refining and improving this curriculum by giving feedback upon program completion of how the study helped shape their attitudes toward incarceration and criminal justice. We will provide free small group materials but supplies are limited. Watch the promo video and learn more today at prisonfellowship.org/OutrageousJustice to see how you can join this exciting movement!
