WEEK 3: AUTHORITY, DISCERNMENT, CALL
How can we trust that new revelations are of God? Elaine Heath reminds us there are some time-tested ways to consider. We can trust the wisdom and direction Christ gives to us, just as Paul did, using reliable means of discernment. Paul talked to spiritual friends and mentors like Barnabas and Peter, went on a pilgrimage into the desert, and spent time in sustained prayer. These are proven ways that will also help us make decisions and find direction, which are pleasing to God.
In this week’s study of God Unbound, we are invited to try discernment practices that will help us discover truth and wisdom.

WEEK 2: OPENING OURSELVES TO GOD
GO AND DO
Ask your pastor or a trusted spiritual friend to help you find a spiritual director who has experience leading spiritual exercises—someone who can guide you in a “spiritual experience mediated through symbols, metaphors, stories, art, music, and practices of prayer that help us listen deeply to God’s voice.” Or, if your pastor or trusted spiritual friend has the time and knowledge to help you, invite them to guide you in a spiritual experience that allows you to open yourself to the presence of God.
What mystical experience have you had? How did it strengthened your faith and life in Christ?
Please let us know by posting your comments here.-------
