The Inclusiveness of God

The Inclusiveness of God
Throughout the Scriptures, we discover that God is an inclusive God. We discover in the Torah that God called a man with a speech impediment to lead His people out of slavery. We discover from the story of King David that he not only return all the land and possessions of a man grandfather to a young man who was disabled in his feet, plus including this man at his own home and table. We learn that God came down on the leaders of Israel for taking the best and giving the worst to the people condemning the leaders and promising to lead His people with love and justice. We learn that God used an old woman and old man to bring man to birth the forerunner of the promised Messiah. Then, we learn that God used a poor teenage virgin girl to be made pregnant by the Holy Spirit to give birth of the Promised Messiah. Then we learn that this promised Messiah would hang out with sinners and people with disabilities to give them a new life that society including the religious community failed to give. In this year of 2016, we realize that the church that is the continuation of the Israel community has not been as inclusive with all people as God has called us to be. Too many times, the church has been exclusive when we know that exclusivity is SIN.
