Psalm 111:1 Halleluyah!
I will wholeheartedly give thanks to Adonai
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
2 The deeds of Adonai are great,
greatly desired by all who enjoy them.
3 His work is full of majesty and splendor,
and his righteousness continues forever.
4 He has gained renown for his wonders.
Adonai is merciful and compassionate.
5 He gives food to those who fear him.
He remembers his covenant forever.
6 He shows his people how powerfully he works
by giving them the nations as their heritage.
7 The works of his hands are truth and justice;
all his precepts can be trusted.
8 They have been established forever and ever,
to be carried out truly and honestly.
9 He sent redemption to his people
and decreed that his covenant should last forever.
His name is holy and fearsome —
10 the first and foremost point of wisdom is the fear of Adonai;
all those living by it gain good common sense.
His praise stands forever.
-------I am a computer programmer. Every few years I need to learn a new programming procedure. I read books about it to make sure I understand the new concepts and format.
One time when I learned a new procedure, I was pretty confident that I knew what I was doing. I tried working with a very short program, but I couldn't even write the first line of the procedure. That experience taught me that there is a big difference between knowing facts and using them correctly.
When God gives us a command, He doesn't tell us to just go and think about it. Instead, God tells us to do it! Our Bible verses tell us that it is important to obey God. We can read and study about prayer, but the best thing is to start praying. When Jesus was on earth, He didn't just talk to people with fancy words. He went out among the people, healing them, praying for them and forgiving them.
Don't just read God's commands today - obey them![Bob La Forge]
"Wisdom begins with fear and respect for the Lord. Those who obey him are very wise."[Psalm 111:10a]
PRAYER: Lord, I don't want to just read and study Your commands. I want to obey them every day. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Deaf Devo of The Deaf Ministry in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Sunday, 5 March 2017 "God Always Loves Us" with The Bible Reading: Romans 8:37-39
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are superconquerors, through the one who has loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers, neither what exists nor what is coming, 39 neither powers above nor powers below, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which comes to us through the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.
-------
When I was growing up, my family went to a park called Candy Cane Land. When my brother was 6 years old, he decided one day that he wanted to go to the park. But everyone in the family was busy, so he sneaked out the back door and walked to the park.
Soon my parents noticed that he was gone. They searched and searched for my brother. Finally an Amber Alert was issued so people in the area could be searching for him, too. Later in the day, my grandmother drove past Candy Cane Land park and saw my brother there, playing in the sand.
Sometimes we think that we can go our own way in life. We ignore God and His Word. But God is always waiting for us to return to Him and have a close fellowship with Him. God loves us - even when we turn away from Him. Our Bible verses remind us that "nothing can separate us from God's love" (verse 38a).
Praise God and thank Him for His everlasting love![Brianna McCance]
"But in all these troubles we have complete victory through God, who has shown his love for us."[Romans 8:37]
PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for always loving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Deaf Devo of Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Saturday, 4 March 2017 "Stand Strong" with The Bible Reading: 1 Peter 5:8-11
1 Peter 5:8 Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand against him, firm in your trust, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are going through the same kinds of suffering. 10 You will have to suffer only a little while; after that, God, who is full of grace, the one who called you to his eternal glory in union with the Messiah, will himself restore, establish and strengthen you and make you firm. 11 To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.
-------
Have you ever faced times when you were happy and everything was going well in your life, and then the next day you struggled with fear and depression? I think that all people have experienced both good and bad times in their lives.
The devil doesn't want us to be happy and have peace. He likes it when we are confused and disappointed. The devil wants to take away our joy and watch us struggle in life. Our Bible Reading today talks about the devil. "The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat"(verse 8b).
In our verses, Paul tells us what we should do when the devil attacks us. "Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith" (verse 9a). We can depend on God to protect us when the devil tries to tempt us and discourage us.
Remember that you are God's child and He loves you. He will protect and help you today.[Sandy Kirby Quandt]
"So give yourselves to God. Stand against the devil, and he will run away from you."[James 4:7]
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please protect me from the devil. In Jesus' name. Amen.
