Deaf Devo at Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States "Travel (4)" for Monday, 15 May 2017 with The Bible Reading: John 14:1-7
John 14:1 “Don’t let yourselves be disturbed. Trust in God and trust in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many places to live. If there weren’t, I would have told you; because I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 Since I am going and preparing a place for you, I will return to take you with me; so that where I am, you may be also. 4 Furthermore, you know where I’m going; and you know the way there.”
5 T’oma said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you’re going; so how can we know the way?” 6 Yeshua said, “I AM the Way — and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me. 7 Because you have known me, you will also know my Father; from now on, you do know him — in fact, you have seen him.”

-------When I travel by airplane, I try to have a flexible schedule. Sometimes my flight is delayed or I must take a detour through another city. I cannot trust the airline to get me to my destination on time.
In verse 1 of our Bible Reading today, Jesus said, "Don't be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me." I believe Jesus' words. So I will trust Him. I am not going to worry about things that happen to me.
In verse 3, Jesus said, "After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am." Here Jesus is talking about the place where we will live forever with Him. I know I can trust Jesus' words here, too. So I will not worry about where I will go when I die.
I can always trust Jesus. You can trust Him, too. Don't worry about things today. Depend on Jesus!
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father too. But now you know the Father. You have seen him.'"[John 14:6-7]
PRAYER: Dearest God, thank You for preparing a place for me to live forever. In Jesus' name. Amen.
