Hello Resurrection Blue Springs!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! It looks like we have a wonderful respite from all the rain and chilly weather this weekend. Perfect timing for our rescheduled Faithwork day at St. Mary's Manor on Saturday morning to work in their gardens. Feel free to grab your working gloves and garden tools and join us at 10 am at 111 NW Mock Ave just a hop across the interstate from the church.
This Sunday in worship we continue our Birds and the Bees series where we’re exploring the biblical perspectives on love, intimacy and relationships. We'll take a look at a growing number in our society, those living a single life and the decisions, choices and challenges of living single. We'll also be sharing in Holy Communion together. We hope you will invite someone to come worship with us.
Parents, I want to make sure you get the message today that we have postponed tonight's TGIF to next Friday, May 12th. Next Friday will be a celebration of the end of the school year. We hope this change will work to your benefit too. Make sure you take a look below at this summer's mini-camp dates to get them on your calendar and watch in the coming week or two for the fun activities and events we have planned for this summer.   • TGIF Friday – Moved to May 12, 7 pm. TGIF (Thank GOD it’s Friday) is designed to be a fun, interactive evening of games, worship and fellowship for elementary children in K-5th grade! Register online. Contact Diane.Enlow@cor.org for more information. 
  • FaithWork Rescheduled April showers postponed our FaithWork for April 22. We have rescheduled working in the St. Mary’s Manor garden to May 6. Plan to join us at 111 NW Mock Ave from 10 am – 1 pm for this family friendly opportunity. Look for our crew on the east back side of the Manor.   • The Relationship Workshop – An interactive workshop designed to discuss and maintain healthy relationships and connections through different seasons of life. Presented by licensed counselors Grant Wood and Greg Ferguson on our Leawood campus. Choose from May 9 in B206, or May 23 in Wesley Covenant Chapel. Register online.
  • Dessert & Conversation with Pastor Adam – Wednesday, May 10, 6:30 pm, Leawood B206. Pastor Adam will share how the Resurrection Foundation helps us “Sustain our Multi-Campus Vision” to change lives for decades to come. RSVP online. 
  • Charitable Giving Tools Workshop – Saturday, May 20, 9 am, Leawood C136. Learn smart ways to save on taxes and maximize your charitable giving in this workshop featuring a panel discussion. Space is limited. Register online.
  • Waypoint Men’s Group – “Gather” online each week to navigate your life’s journey using the GPS, Resurrection’s Grow. Pray. Study. Guide – all from the comfort of wherever you are!   • Fun Day at Phillips@Attucks Elementary – Thursday, May 25 We have a very fun and exciting serve opportunity for May! If you work on Thursdays, this will be your chance to take a personal day to do something rewarding, and did we mention, FUN? We will be going to Phillips@Attucks Elementary to help lead the World Fun Day there. It will be outdoors, weather permitting, and will have various stations. The Kindergartners through 2nd graders will participate in the morning and the 3rd through 6th graders will be in the afternoon. You can sign up to help from 8:30am to noon or from 12:30pm to 4pm(or both). KC Royals’ Slugger will be there from noon to 12:30. Click here to Sign up.   • June MiniCamp June 23rd 6-8pm | 24th 9am-12pm At this MiniCamp, children K-5th grade will learn the true meaning behind a few of the parables in the Bible as we explore "The Secret Life of Jesus."   • July MiniCamp July 14th 6-8 | 15th 9am-12pm Keep their minds active this summer at our S.T.E.A.M. MiniCamp. Children K-5th grade will learn hands on the amazing things they can explore in this world through science, technology, engineering, architecture & math. And how this is all possible only because of God! Register your children online.
  • Christmas In October House Captain We are looking for someone (or a small team) who would be enthusiastically willing to be a House Captain for the Resurrection Blue Springs’ Christmas in October (CIO) house. The number one skill set for this position is project management and organizational skills. Construction skills are not required. The Christmas in October management team is available to help consult or advise throughout the process. If you feel you are being called to fill this important role or need more information, please contact Sherree Gorman.
