EDK is Up and Running!
Our End Dependence Kansas employment program at communityworks inc. is up and running! If you know someone who is looking for assistance with employment in Johnson or Wyandotte counties, we would like to help.
We help individuals who have some kind of barrier impeding upon their ability to complete the functions of work find successful employment. We have a streamlined process to help get a case open quickly with Vocational Rehabilitation for assistance with resources- within 10 business days of submitting a referral.
The populations we are serving include
individuals transitioning out of high school to employment
individuals with a criminal background or who are exiting corrections and
individuals receiving Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) on a waiver.
The possible HCBS waivers include
Physical Disability (PD),
Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD),
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and
Autism (AU)
Individuals are a good candidate for our services if they are interested in working more than 20 hours a week and if they would benefit from extensive, long term job coaching or skills training.
We use an evidence based employment model to help individuals discover their interests, abilities and skills, and to support their training on the job site.
The Referral Process
At communityworks, someone will always speak to a live person every time they call during business hours. Here is how it works:
Call any of the following numbers:
• Toll Free: (866) 429-6757
• Overland Park, KS Office: (913) 789-9900
• Callers are greeted by a knowledgeable staff person who will ensure that the caller gets the answers they need to get connected to services.
Two Other Referral Options:
Fillable Referral Form (click to download) - simply email the completed form to infoedk@communityworksinc.com or fax it to (913) 789-9170
On www.communityworksinc.com - bookmark this website
We’d be happy to meet with anyone on an HCBS waiver to discuss the program.
Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. If you have any questions, please contact madelineg@communityworksinc.com.
