"Want to Make History? Act Now!" Prison Fellowship in Lansdowne, Virginia, United States for Thursday, 12 April 2018
ADVOCACY ALERT
There are more than 180,000 men and women in federal prison. This year alone, about 40,000 of them are coming home to communities all over America. Many people in the federal prison system are ready to turn their lives around and simply want to regain the trust of the communities they are returning to, but it’s been nearly impossible for them to get the tools they need.
Right now, we have a rare, brief window of opportunity to advance bipartisan legislation that will give federal prisoners access to transformative programming like substance-abuse treatment, literacy classes, and job-readiness training. With help and opportunities, people behind bars can go on to make important contributions.
This is truly a historic moment. Together, we can change the outcomes for hundreds of thousands of people in the federal prison system—as well as their families, their communities, and our nation. Will you join us before that window closes?
Share your name and address here, and we’ll send your congressional representative a message declaring your support for prison reform that will give people access to the transformational programming they need to succeed.
Make history today. Tell your elected official you support programs that change lives and make safer communities.
Sincerely,
Craig DeRoche
