Power of the Ballot
One of the ways we as believers express our beliefs is in the power of the ballot. As we draw near to Election Day on August 7, 2018, let us remember to exercise our right to vote. The Black Church has long been an institution of social change and political activism; however, we cannot endorse candidates. While we welcome all political candidates and would love to introduce them to the congregation, we cannot allow literature to be shared in the church house. We want to encourage people to vote, and we invite you to talk to the membership about your platform, but please do not leave any literature on our information table. To do so could put St. James at risk of violating our tax-exempt status.Thank you for your cooperation.
