With two months to go, the time is
right for us to call on the G20 to act. Over the last 18 months, thousands of you in over
100 nations around the world have signed a petition
to the world’s most powerful leaders, asking them to take action.
We're on our last stretch. Help take us beyond
80,000 signature milestone by sending this email to your family and
friends.
In a world in which governments face competitive pressures to assist
tax dodgers and other criminals who shift and hide their ill-gotten
gains, ordinary citizens are
increasingly calling on their governments to collaborate
to solve global problems. They are being asked to work together to
end corruption for the greater good of the vast majority of
people.
We have a
unique opportunity in the weeks before the G20
leaders meet in Brisbane to remind governments that they are not
corporations competing with each other, but have a role to work
together for the benefit of all people. Addressing these problems
will help developing countries build the resources and services that
will allow them to address poverty.
The good news is that many leaders now seem ready to take action on
the issue of tax. We need to encourage them to be bold and follow
through.
We have a
staggering 78,000 signatures. But we urgently need more. Could
you help us reach 80,000? Please share our global petition now with
your friends or family by email, Facebook or Twitter. The
more who speak out on this issue, the louder we’ll be heard. And the
time is right.
